California Senator Roy Ashburn (R) represents the state's 18th district, in Sacramento. During the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 3, 2010, Ashburn was arrested for drunk driving. In addition, Ashburn, who is an opponent of gay rights, was allegedly arrested after leaving a gay bar and a male passenger was seated next to him in the car. According to CBS13, Senator Ashburn was at a gay nightclub called Faces in midtown Sacramento. He was taken to Sacramento County Jail and was released after paying a $1400 bail bond. The blog Queerty pointed out that Faces serves $1.00 drinks on Wednesdays.
