AA Flight 331 overshoots runway in Jamaica

American Airlines Flight 331 crashed off a runway at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, Jamaica on the night of December 22, 2009. The plane apparently skidded off the runway and broke in to two pieces just after 10:00 p.m. local time. The flight originated in Washington, D.C. and stopped in Miami before crash landing off the runway in Jamaica. An American Airlines spokesman said the Boeing 737 was nearly a full flight, which would equate to 140 passengers and several crew members. At least 40 passengers were injured in the crash.

Apparently, the plane 'overshot' the runway and broke into pieces. Milton Walker with TV Jamaica reported that the plane broke into three pieces and said 4 were 'seriously' injured.
