An Idaho woman was impaled by a tree branch during a scenic drive through a mountain range in September 2009. Michelle Childers was in the passenger seat of her husband's truck when the 13-inch spruce branch went through her neck. The couple drove for an hour before reaching a lodge where they sought help. Childers was airlifted to a hospital where she underwent six-hours of surgery to remove the branch.
Wow that is insane. Like so many Americans, Michelle Childers had no medical insurance so her family has set up a donation fund.
