Reality show scam busted in Istanbul

Nine women were tricked into appearing on a fake reality show in Istanbul, Turkey. The women, between the ages of 16 and 24 years old, were recruited over the Internet after they responded to advertisements seeking reality show contestants. The women lived in a luxury villa for two months and signed contracts agreeing to forfeit $33,000 if they left early. The organizer of the "show" held them captive. The girls grew suspicious when they realized the show lacked the usual reality show activities like voting for evictions and other games. Police raided the villa and learned that nude images of the girls were being sold over the Internet. The man who organized the scheme was arrested on Sunday, September 6, 2009.
