Attorney Mina Brees of Austin, Texas passed away at the age of 59 on August 9, 2009. Brees was the mother of New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees. In the days just before her death, Brees business records were subpoenaed by Texas state prosecutors. According to reports, Brees had sent letters to restaurants informing them that they had lost the rights to use their names and said she could help them in return for $25,000. The subpoena suggested Brees was in violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices-Consumer Protection Act.
