Eunice Kennedy Shriver was the sister of President John F. Kennedy. Shriver passed away at 2:00 a.m. on the morning of August 11, 2009. On August 7, 2009, the Kennedy family announced that the 88-year-old had fallen ill and was hospitalized. Her husband Robert Sargent Shriver, Jr. and her children, including Maria Shriver, were by her side until she passed.
